He is continuing to improve the City’s departmental operations and its delivery of services by investing in technology and utilizing more contemporary methods to increase efficiency in our local government and is a staunch advocate for embracing diversity throughout the community. Mayor Carpenter, while serving in his first term has engaged business and residents on a very personal level. He has a style of dealing with issues in a “head on” fashion with a tireless energy.

He is recognized state-wide as a leader in fighting the Opiate Crisis and was the only Mayor selected by Governor Baker to serve on the Governor's Opioid Addiction Working Group.
