"It's Takes a Carpenter to Build a City!"

Now in his third term as Mayor of the City of Brockton, Bill Carpenter has made substantial revitalization efforts that are attracting new investment and increased economic opportunity for both businesses and residents throughout the city. Mayor Carpenter has established an elite economic development team comprised of the city’s first planner in eight years, a Main Streets Coordinator responsible for managing a collaborative effort of businesses, property owners, and other stakeholders, to revitalize the Brockton Business Corridor, and a series of cross-sector partnerships that have improved local commerce and the overall quality of life within the community. He is continuing to improve the City’s departmental operations and its delivery of services by investing in technology and utilizing more contemporary methods to increase efficiency in our local government and is a staunch advocate for embracing diversity throughout the community. Mayor Carpenter, while serving in his first term has engaged business and residents on a very personal level.  He has a style of dealing with issues in a “head on” fashion with a tireless energy.

Mayor Carpenter’s unwavering commitment to public safety and community policing has begun to encourage companies to invest and reoccupy distressed business districts by improving the security of neighborhoods and corridors. He is recognized state-wide as a leader in fighting the Opiate Crisis and was the only Mayor selected by Governor Baker to serve on the Governor's Opioid Addiction Working Group. During his second term, he created “The Champion Plan” - an addiction outreach program meant to help those with substance use disorders in addiction treatment facilities.
